Deep Shelf with Black Steel L Brackets

A solid wood wall shelf paired with American-made matte black steel L brackets, built for the jobs a floating shelf can't handle. At 14" and 16" deep, it offers real surface area for kitchen dishware and cookbooks, stacked bathroom towels, books, ceramics, or anything you'd otherwise hesitate to put on the wall.

Built by hand in Brooklyn from high-quality solid hardwood. The brackets are cut and powder-coated from 1/4" thick, 2" wide US steel, with a matte black finish. Each bracket holds roughly 100 lbs when mounted into studs. Install them under the shelf for a classic exposed-bracket look, or flip them so the leg sits behind the shelf for a more minimal, near-floating profile.

The exposed bracket system carries significantly more weight than a hidden-bracket floating shelf, so the deeper footprint isn't just for show.
